SNK released its new fighting game FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves on April 24 in Japan (April 23 in North America) for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
Editions and pricing
The game is sold exclusively as the SPECIAL EDITION, which bundles the base game with Season Pass 1, priced at ¥7,920 (about $53) tax included. Owners of the PlayStation 4 version can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free.
Season Pass 1 includes five DLC characters: Andy Bogard, Ken, Joe Higashi, Chun-Li, and Mr. Big, with Ken and Chun-Li crossing over from Street Fighter. According to SNK, the DLC characters are scheduled to arrive in this order: Andy Bogard and Ken in summer 2025, Joe Higashi in fall 2025, Chun-Li in winter 2025, and Mr. Big in early 2026.
Roster, systems, and features
The roster includes 17 characters spanning series veterans and newcomers, plus the five Season Pass 1 DLC fighters, for a total of 22. Notably, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and DJ Salvatore Ganacci are also playable characters.
The game introduces the new REV System, allowing players to unleash special attacks from the start of a battle. Two control schemes are available: the technical Arcade Style and the simplified Smart Style, which uses directional inputs combined with a single button for special moves and combos. A new single-player RPG mode called EOST (EPISODES OF SOUTH TOWN) is also included.
Online play supports cross-platform matches between different platforms and uses rollback netcode. The soundtrack features 19 stage tracks composed by 11 DJs active around the world.
$2.5 million world championship
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves has been named an official title of the SNK World Championship 2025, a global tournament with a total prize pool exceeding $2.5 million (about ¥350 million) combined across qualifiers and finals, including a $1.5 million (about ¥210 million) grand prize for the champion. According to SNK, regional qualifiers will be held worldwide, with the finals scheduled to take place in the United States at the end of 2025.

FATAL FURY is one of SNK’s flagship fighting game franchises, tracing its roots to the early 1990s alongside other SNK series such as THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV, SAMURAI SPIRITS, and Art of Fighting.
